All States To Begin Vaccine Dry Run On Saturday
A dry run for Covid vaccine will be held in all states on Saturday, January 2, sources told NDTV as authorities hinted that approval for a vaccine could be around the corner. On Thursday, the Union Health Secretary chaired a high-level meeting with all states ad Union Territories to discuss the issue. This is the second dry run being conducted in the country -- the first was held on December 28 and 29 in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat and had gone off without a hitch, the health ministry said.

The 27-year-old, who belongs to China's Jiangxi province, was arrested today, the police said.

नए साल के जश्न के मद्देनजर दिल्ली में नाइट कर्फ्यू लगाने का ऐलान किया गया है. 31 दिसंबर और 1 जनवरी को रात 11 बजे से सुबह 6 बजे तक नाइट कर्फ्यू रहेगा. DDMA ने कोरोनावायरस को देखते हुए नए साल के जश्न को लेकर होने वाली भीड़ के कारण यह आर्डर जारी किया है. इस दौरान पब्लिक प्लेस पर 5 लोगों से ज्यादा भीड़ इकठ्ठी नहीं हो सकती. नए साल के किसी भी जश्न और सेलिब्रेशन या प्रोग्राम की पब्लिक प्लेस पर इजाजत नहीं होगी. लाइसेंसी प्लेस, पब्लिक प्लेस के दायरे में नही आएंगे.

Three metros -- Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai -- and several states including Punjab and Kerala have announced restrictions including big gatherings and night curfew for New Year's eve in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The Centre has advised restrictions to keep large gatherings to a minimum as the highly infectious UK strain of the virus surfaced in the country. Till yesterday, 20 people, all of whom recently returned from the UK, were found to have contracted the new bug. There will be no restrictions in Bengal and Chandigarh.

In what seems to be a case of dishonour killing, a woman and her lover, both from the Jat community but from different villages in Haryana's Rohtak district, were allegedly shot at by her father who disapproved of the alliance. While the woman, Puja, died on the spot, the groom - Mohit - was seriously wounded and was rushed to Rohtak's PGI Hospital with serious injuries. His medical condition is now stable, sources said. Mohit's brother was also killed in the firing, the police said.

The police in a statement said all the three were terrorists, but were not listed as terrorists in police records.

संगम नगरी प्रयागराज में माघ मेला-2021 में हिस्सा लेने वाले सभी कल्पवासियों (मेले के दौरान वहां रहने वाले साधु) की कोविड-19 जांच कराई जाएगी. उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य सचिव राजेन्द्र कुमार तिवारी ने सोमवार को माघ मेला 2020-21 की तैयारियों की समीक्षा करते हुए कहा कि माघ मेले में आने वाले सभी कल्पवासियों की आरटी-पीसीआर जांच जरूर करायी जाए. उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि माघ मेले में प्रतिदिन आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की भी रैपिड एंटीजन जांच अथवा थर्मल स्कैनिंग की व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित कराई जाए. साथ ही किसी भी श्रद्धालु में संक्रमण पाए जाने पर उसे तत्काल चिकित्सालय ले जाया जाए. केंद्र और आंदोलन कर रहे किसान संगठनों के बीच ठहरी हुई बातचीत आज होगी वहीं प्रदर्शनकारी किसान संगठनों ने कहा कि चर्चा केवल तीन कृषि कानूनों को निरस्त करने के तौर-तरीकों एवं न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एमएसपी) की कानूनी गारंटी देने पर ही होगी.

केंद्र और आंदोलन कर रहे किसान संगठनों के बीच ठहरी हुई बातचीत आज होगी वहीं प्रदर्शनकारी किसान संगठनों ने कहा कि चर्चा केवल तीन कृषि कानूनों को निरस्त करने के तौर-तरीकों एवं न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एमएसपी) की कानूनी गारंटी देने पर ही होगी. इस बीच केंद्र और किसानों के बीच छठे दौर की वार्ता से एक दिन पहले केंद्रीय मंत्रियों नरेन्द्र सिंह तोमर और पीयूष गोयल ने वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता एवं गृह मंत्री अमित शाह से मुलाकात कीय सूत्रों ने बताया कि मंत्रियों ने इस बैठक में इस बारे में चर्चा की कि आज किसानों के साथ होने वाली वार्ता में सरकार का क्या रुख रहेगा.

Fourteen fresh cases of new mutant coronavirus strain - first reported in the United Kingdom in September - have been registered in India, the government said this morning. India, for the first time on Tuesday, recorded six patients infected with the new strain; all of them are travellers who returned from the UK recently. The new mutated version of the coronavirus detected in the UK and South Africa are significantly more transmissible than other known strains, experts have said. In India, the number is likely to surge. Delhi has recorded the most number of these cases of new virus strain (8), followed by Bengaluru (7).

सरकार ने नये कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन कर रहे 40 किसान संगठनों को सभी प्रासंगिक मुद्दों पर अगले दौर की वार्ता के लिए 30 दिसंबर को बुलाया है. सरकार द्वारा सोमवार को उठाए गये इस कदम का उद्देश्य तीन नये कृषि कानूनों पर जारी गतिरोध का एक ‘‘तार्किक समाधान’’ निकालना है. किसान संगठनों ने सितंबर में लागू किये गये नये कृषि कानूनों को वापस लेने के लिए तौर तरीके सहित एजेंडे पर मंगलवार, 29 दिसंबर, को वार्ता करने का पिछले हफ्ते एक प्रस्ताव दिया था, जिसके बाद सरकार ने उन्हें आमंत्रित किया है. इस बीच प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार पूरे समर्पण के साथ किसानों और कृषि क्षेत्र को मजबूत बनाने का काम करती रहेगी. किसान संगठन सैद्धांतिक रूप से वार्ता मे शामिल होने पर राजी हो गये हैं लेकिन उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया है कि बैठक के एजेंडे में तीनों कानूनों को वापस लेने के तौर-तरीके पर चर्चा शामिल होना चाहिए.

प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) ने शिवसेना सांसद संजय राउत की पत्नी वर्षा राउत को पीएमसी बैंक धनशोधन मामले में पूछताछ के लिए 29 दिसम्बर को तलब किया है. यह जानकारी अधिकारियों ने रविवार को दी. वर्षा राउत को मुंबई में केंद्रीय एजेंसी के समक्ष पेश होने के लिए कहा गया है. यह उनको पेश होने के लिए जारी तीसरा समन है, इससे पहले वह दो बार स्वास्थ्य आधार पर एजेंसी के समक्ष पेश नहीं हुई हैं. पूछताछ के लिए उन्हें समन धनशोधन रोकथाम कानून (पीएमएलए) के प्रावधानों के तहत जारी किया गया है.

हाई ब्लड प्रेशर की समस्या से जूझ रहे सुपरस्टार रजनीकांत के स्वास्थ्य में सुधार होने के बाद उन्हें हैदराबाद के अस्पताल से तीन दिन के इलाज के बाद रविवार को छुट्टी दे दी गई. अस्पताल से छुट्टी मिलने के बाद 70 वर्षीय रजनीकांत विमान से चेन्नई लौटे और पोश गार्डन स्थित अपने आवास पहुंचे. डॉक्टरों की सलाह के मुताबिक वह कम से कम एक सप्ताह आराम करेंगे. इससे पहले हैदराबाद में अपोलो अस्पताल ने एक बुलेटिन में कहा था कि उनका रक्तचाप अब ठीक है और वह कहीं बेहतर महसूस कर रहे हैं.

आंदोलन के बीच किसानों ने सरकार के बातचीत के प्रस्ताव को शनिवार को स्वीकार कर लिया. किसान संगठनों ने सरकार को 29 दिसंबर यानी मंगलवार को सुबह 11 बजे बैठक का प्रस्ताव दिया है. किसानों की मांग है कि सरकार के साथ होने वाली बैठक में तीनों कृषि क़ानूनों को रद्द करने और न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (MSP) को क़ानूनी दर्जा देने पर बात की जाए. इसके साथ ही वायु गुणवत्ता और विद्युत संशोधन बिल को लेकर भी चर्चा हो. संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा ने इस संबंध में सरकार को शनिवार को प्रस्ताव भेजा है.
