78,512 Covid Cases In India In 24 Hours, Over 36 Lakh Total Cases

India reported 78,512 new coronavirus infections on Monday, slightly fewer than the previous day when it posted the biggest, single-day tally of infections of any country in the pandemic. With the record surge, the total cases in the country now stand at 36,21,245. An additional 971 new deaths brought the overall death count to 64,469, the Union Health Ministry said this morning. 27,74,802 patients have recovered from the infection in the country, taking the recovery rate to 76.62 per cent. There are 7,81,975 active coronavirus cases in the country currently, which account for 21.59 per cent of the total caseload, the Union Health Ministry data showed.

The 63-year-old has refused to retract or apologise, maintaining that it would be contempt of his conscience and the court. His lawyer has argued that that the court must and should take extreme criticism as its "shoulders are broad enough". Attorney General KK Venugopal has also argued against punishment. Maintaining that the judges cannot "go to press to defend themselves or explain," the court cited Mr Bhushan's high standing within the legal system. "Had it been someone else, it was easier to ignore," the court had said.

सिग्नल स्कूल: आसमान छूते गरीब, फूल बेचने वाला लड़का बना इंजीनियर
मुंबई से सटे ठाणे में सिग्नल (Traffic Signal) पर रहने वाले बच्चों के लिए सिग्नल स्कूल (Signal School) शुरू किया गया था. इसकी शुरुआत ट्रैफिक सिग्नल और फुटपाथ पर रहने वाले बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए की गई थी. सड़क पर रहने वाले मोहन काले यहां पर पढ़ाई की. वो भी उन्हीं बच्चों में शामिल थे जो फुटपाथ पर फूल बेचते थे और कुछ और चीजे बेचकर अपने गुजारा भी चलाते थे. अब काले इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियर बन गए हैं और अच्छी कंपनी में नौकरी कर रहे हैं.

Two men are being treated at a Delhi hospital after surviving a crash crash that saw them fall off a flyover on Thursday, police officials said. मुंबई से सटे ठाणे में सिग्नल (Traffic Signal) पर रहने वाले बच्चों के लिए सिग्नल स्कूल (Signal School) शुरू किया गया था. इसकी शुरुआत ट्रैफिक सिग्नल और फुटपाथ पर रहने वाले बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए की गई थी. सड़क पर रहने वाले मोहन काले यहां पर पढ़ाई की. वो भी उन्हीं बच्चों में शामिल थे जो फुटपाथ पर फूल बेचते थे और कुछ और चीजे बेचकर अपने गुजारा भी चलाते थे. अब काले इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियर बन गए हैं और अच्छी कंपनी में नौकरी कर रहे हैं.

Two men are being treated at a Delhi hospital after surviving a crash crash that saw them fall off a flyover on Thursday, police officials said. The two are now reported to be out of danger, they added. The accident took place around 11 pm when their Honda City car crashed into a Ford Endeavour parked on an elevated road in Vikaspuri-Peeragarhi flyover and plunged on the pavement 40 feet below, officials said. The car toppled several times before coming to a stop, they added.

After missing online classes for 4 months, 8-year-old Hitesh is finally getting back to studies at a "Mohalla Pathshala" in a remote village in Haryana's Nuh district. He is among the 70,000 children of the district - around 70 per cent of the total - who had no access to online classes because of a lack of smartphones, TV or internet access. To fill the gap, the administration came up with "Mohalla Pathshalas". Under the initiative, local young graduates or "shikshadoots" are voluntarily teaching children in community classrooms which are set up in courtyards, rooftops or porches. Only up to 15 children are allowed in a single batch and with social distancing.

A 17-year-old girl, whose mutilated body was found near a village in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district earlier today, was also raped, the police confirmed Tuesday night. The police had initially said the girl appeared to have been killed with a sharp weapon and that she had sustained injuries to her neck. The body was found near a dried-up pond, around 200 metres from her village, the cops added. "Yes, the post-mortem report has confirmed rape. We are making all possible efforts to identify and arrest the accused. We hope to have a breakthrough soon," Satendar Kumar, Kheri's police chief, said.

The body was found near a dried-up pond, around 200 metres from her village, the cops added. "Yes, the post-mortem report has confirmed rape. We are making all possible efforts to identify and arrest the accused. We hope to have a breakthrough soon," Satendar Kumar, Kheri's police chief, said.

कोविड-19 महामारी के मद्देनजर कुछ राजनीतिक दलों द्वारा चुनाव को टालने की मांग के बीच निर्वाचन आयोग के उच्च पदस्थ सूत्रों ने रविवार को बताया कि बिहार में विधानसभा चुनाव समय पर होगा. बिहार की 243 सदस्यीय विधानसभा का कार्यकाल 29 नवंबर को खत्म हो जाएगा. ऐसे संकेत हैं कि अक्टूबर-नवंबर के बीच किसी समय चुनाव हो सकते हैं. EC के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने रविवार को बताया, ‘‘बिहार का चुनाव निश्चित तौर पर समय पर होगा.’’

Sushant Singh Rajput Case: CBI Summons Rhea Chakraborty, Her Father

Actor Rhea Chakraborty and her father have been summoned by the CBI as part of investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant Singh Rajput's family has accused Ms Chakraborty, his girlfriend, of financial fraud and abetment of suicide and filed a case against her in Patna which has been upheld by the Supreme Court. Ms Chakraborty, 28, has been questioned twice by the Enforcement Directorate, which is probing into Mr Rajput's father's allegations of crores being taken out of his account.

Delhi Records Highest One-Day Count Of 1,450 COVID-19 Cases
Delhi recorded 1,450 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, the city's highest single-day spike in August, taking the tally to over 1.61 lakh while the number of deaths rose to 4,300, authorities said. The national capital had recorded 1,412 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the previous highest single-day spike of the month.

The letter, demanding "collective decision-making", calls into question the leadership of the Gandhis, who have led the Congress for much of its 134-year history. Sonia Gandhi, 73, will either resign immediately or give the party a deadline to find a new chief, sources said on the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC). Sources say Rahul Gandhi is also firm on not returning as Congress chief, a post he quit after the party's second straight national election defeat last year.

Just before Independence Day, as part of its special series "Lost Generation" which focused on how children have been dropping out of online classes as many families can't afford smartphones, NDTV reported how 15 per cent of Delhi government school students have been untraceable as they haven't attended any online classes since April. After the story aired kids and their families who live in slums and are struggling, many people extended their support. They have now donated devices including smartphones and a laptop to help out 13 families so far and the help continues to pour in.
