"Orders Issued By Oversight": Interest Rate Cuts On Small Savings Dropped

The government has rolled back cuts on interest rates on small savings schemes, including National Savings Certificates or NSC and Public Provident Fund or PPF, announced last evening. "Interest rates of small savings schemes of the government of India shall continue to be at the rates which existed in the last quarter of 2020-2021, ie, rates that prevailed as of March 2021. Orders issued by oversight shall be withdrawn," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted this morning.

छत्तीसगढ़ में कोरोना की डरावनी रफ्तार, कोरोना के मामलों देश में दूसरे नंबर पर

छत्तीसगढ़ में पिछले 24 घंटे के दौरान 4563 नए लोगों में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण की पुष्टि हुई है. राज्य में इस वायरस से संक्रमित हुए लोगों की संख्या 3,49,187 हो गई है. राज्य में यह पहली बार है जब एक ही दिन में इतनी अधिक संख्या में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के मामले आए हैं, राज्य में बुधवार को 67 लोगों को संक्रमण मुक्त होने के बाद अस्पतालों से छुट्टी दी गई है, वहीं 772 लोगों ने गृह पृथक-वास पूरा किया है। राज्य में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमित 39 मरीजों की मौत हुई है. इनमें से 24 घंटे के दौरान 28 लोगों की तथा पिछले दिनों 11 लोगों की मौत हुई है.

कोरोना वायरस: लगातार सातवें दिन सामने आए 50 हजार से ज्यादा मामले

भारत में कोरोना का कहर जारी है बुधवार लगातार सातवी बार कोविड-19 के 50 हजार से ज्यादा नए मामले सामने आए हैं. स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार पिछले 24 घंटों में 53,480 नए मामले सामने आए हैं, जिसके बाद कुल संक्रमितों की संख्या बढ़कर 12,149, 335 हो गई है. जिसमें से 11,434,301 लोग संक्रमण मुक्त हो चुके हैं. मंत्रालय के अनुसार देश में इस वक्त एक्टिव केस 5,52,566 है. जोकि कुल मामलों का 4.55 फीसदी है. इस खतरनाक वायरस के कारण 354 लोगों की मौत हुई है, कुल मृतकों की संख्या 1,62,468 हो गई है.

उत्तर प्रदेश में क्या होली का हुजूम कोरोना बढ़ा सकता है. यूपी में जिन तीन जिलों मथुरा, प्रयागराज और वाराणसी में सड़कों पर एक विशाल हुजूम होली खेल रहा है, वहां एक हफ्ते में ही कोरोना के मामले साढ़े चार गुणा तक बढ़ गए हैं. उत्तर प्रदेश में कोरोना की दूसरी लहर काफी तेज आई है. प्रदेश के करीब 37 फीसदी मामले सिर्फ लखनऊ में हैं, उनके अलावा होली वाले इन जिलों में हालत ठीक नहीं.

महाराष्ट्र: 23 मार्च के बाद पहली बार कोरोना के 30 हजार से कम मामले

महाराष्ट्र में मंगलवार को कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के 27,918 नये मामले सामने आए. विभाग ने बताया कि राज्य में किसी एक दिन में सर्वाधिक मामले दो दिन पहले सामने आये थे, जब 40,414 लोगों के संक्रमित होने की पुष्टि हुई थी. नये मामलों की संख्या में कमी संभवत: कम संख्या में जांच किये जाने के चलते आई है. मंगलवार को 1,29,876 नमूनों की जांच की गई, जबकि एक दिन पहले 1,36,848 नमूनों की जांच की गई थी. विभाग ने बताया कि संक्रमण से और 139 मरीजों की मौत होने के साथ ही राज्य में महामारी से मरने वालों की कुल संख्या बढ़ कर 54,422 पहुंच गई.

बिहार के अररिया जिले के पलासी थाना अंतर्गत कवैया गांव के वार्ड नंबर 6 में मंगलवार की दोपहर छह बच्चों की आग की चपेट में आने से मौत हो गयी. इन बच्चों की उम्र 3 से 6 साल तक है. गेंहू की आयी नई फसल की बाली को आग में भूनने के क्रम में उससे निकली चिंगारी पास की एक फूस की झोपडी (भूसा घर) पर पड़ी, जिससे उसमें आग लग गयी जिसके बाद बच्चे आग लगने पर डरकर अपनी जान बचाने के लिए नादानी में उसी झोपडी में प्रवेश कर गए और आग की चपेट में आ गए.

Over 62,000 New Covid Cases India's Biggest 1-Day Spike In Over 5 Months

India recorded 62,258 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the biggest single-day jump October 16, taking the total Covid caseload to over 1.19 crore. The number of fresh infections is 5.3 per cent higher than yesterday's. 291 deaths in the last 24 hours have pushed the total death count to 1,61,240. India, which reported its first case on January 30 last year, is the third worst-hit country in the world by the pandemic after the United States and Brazil. Amid the worrying rise in the number of infections, Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in the country, will impose a night curfew from Sunday. Over 1.12 crore people in the country have recovered since the beginning of the pandemic.

A special court for lawmakers on Friday acquitted former Union Minister and BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of keeping a law student in his captivity at Shahjahanpur allegedly to rape her. The prosecution could not prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt, said special judge PK Rai, acquitting him of the charges. The victim student too had turned hostile during the course of the trial in the case against Chinmayanand, the court noted.

The first phases of the Bengal and Assam Assembly elections have started, with 30 seats in Bengal and 47 in Assam voting. In Bengal, the ruling Trinamool and the opposition BJP - who have waged a high-stakes, sometimes shrill and often vicious campaign over the past few weeks - will both be eager to make a strong start. The Congress-Left alliance - widely expected to finish a distant third - is also in the mix. In Assam the BJP faces a challenge from the Congress-led 'mahajot', or 'grand alliance' to retain power. In the 2016 Bengal election the Trinamool won 26 of these 30 seats. In Assam, the BJP produced a similar performance to win 35 of 47 seats. Polling booths across both states opened at 7 am and closes at 6 pm; timings have been extended by an hour due to the Covid pandemic.
