The centre has called farmers for talks today, two days ahead of the scheduled date of December 3, as hundreds of farmers trickled in from Punjab at two borders of Delhi. Making the announcement, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar cited cold and coronavirus. There was no precondition. Farmers' organisations have said more people from Amritsar region, who had stayed back to celebrate Gurpurab, are likely to reach the border by today. The protesters have threatened to block five entry points to Delhi On Monday, Union minister Amit Shah met Mr Tomar - the second meet within 24 hours - after protesting farmers rejected the proposal of early talks that hinged on them shifting their protest venue.

ग्रेटर हैदराबाद नगर निगम चुनाव के लिए मतदान जारी

ग्रेटर हैदराबाद नगर निगम (GHMC) चुनाव के लिए मंगलवार सुबह मतदान जारी है. इस चुनाव के लिए विधानसभा और संसदीय चुनाव की तरह प्रचार हुआ और कई राष्ट्रीय स्तर के नेता मैदान में उतरे. जीएचएमसी के 150 वार्ड के लिए मतदान सुबह सात बजे शुरू हुआ और यह शाम छह बजे तक चलेगा. इस चुनाव में कुल 74,44,260 मतदाता मताधिकार का इस्तेमाल कर सकेंगे और कुल 1,122 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं. केंद्रीय गृह राज्य मंत्री जी किशन रेड्डी, सत्तारूढ़ टीआरएस के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष और तेलंगाना नगर प्रशासन मंत्री के टी रामा राव तथा अभिनेता-नेता चिरंजीवी ने सुबह अपने मताधिकार का इस्तेमाल किया.

कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ आंदोलित किसान संगठनों ने शर्तों के साथ बातचीत की केंद्र सरकार की पेशकश ठुकरा दी है. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह की ओर से वार्ता का न्योता दिया गया था, जिसमें 3 दिसंबर से पहले बातचीत के लिए किसानों को दिल्ली-हरियाणा के बॉर्डर से हटकर बुराड़ी के निरंकारी ग्राउंड जाने को कहा गया था. इसको लेकर किसान संगठनों ने रविवार सुबह बैठक की. बैठक के बाद किसान नेताओं ने कहा कि सरकार को बिना किसी शर्त के खुले दिल से बातचीत का आमंत्रण देना चाहिए. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी रविवार को मन की बात कार्यक्रम में कृषि कानूनों का समर्थन किया था. उन्होंने कहा था कि इन कानूनों ने किसानों के लिए संभावनाओं और अवसरों के लिए नए द्वार खोल दिए हैं.

कृषि कानून का विरोध कर रहे किसानों को केंद्र सरकार की ओर से आश्वासन दिया गया है. गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने किसानों से अपील करते हुए कहा है कि वह बुराड़ी स्थित निरंकारी मैदान चले जाएं. जिसके बाद सरकार उनसे बातचीत करेगी. किसान निरंकारी मैदान जाने को तैयार नहीं हैं. उनका कहना है कि वह दिल्ली के जंतर-मंतर जाना चाहते हैं. सरकार अगर चाहती है तो वह उनसे सिंघु बॉर्डर आकर भी बात कर सकती है.

Five patients have died after a fire broke out in the ICU of a designated COVID-19 hospital in Gujarat's Rajkot in the early hours of Friday. Modified tractors, carrying rations, woollens, essential items and people, trundled through Haryana in the chilly winter evening as thousands of Punjab farmers protesting against the Centre's new farm laws, slowly moved closer to Delhi, undeterred by police barricades, tear gas and water cannons. "More than 50,000 farmers will be standing at the Delhi border by today evening," two farmers' bodies claimed. Close to midnight, water cannons started up at Haryana's Sonipat to disperse a small group of Punjab farmers. The day has been replete with clashes -- on one occasion the protesters even pitched the yellow iron barricades into the river below while trying to cross a narrow bridge. Leaders in Punjab and Haryana, meanwhile, sparred on Twitter over the issue.
