देश में 24 घंटे में सामने आए कोरोना के 48648 नए मामले
स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय द्वारा शुक्रवार सुबह जारी किए गए आंकड़ों के अनुसार, देश में कोरोना संक्रमितों की संख्या 80,88,851 हो गई है. पिछले 24 घंटों में कोरोना के 48,648 नए मामले सामने आए हैं. बीते 24 घंटों में 57,386 मरीज ठीक हुए हैं. इस दौरान 563 कोरोना संक्रमितों की मौत हुई है. अब तक कुल 73,73,375 मरीज ठीक हो चुके हैं. 1,21,090 लोगों की जान गई है. कोरोना के मौजूदा मामलों की संख्या 6 लाख से नीचे है. यह संख्या 22 अगस्त के बाद पहली बार 7 लाख से नीचे आई थी. इस समय देश में 5,94,386 एक्टिव केस हैं.

बिहार चुनाव : पहले चरण में 53.87 फीसदी मतदान

बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव में (Bihar Assembly Polls) पहले चरण के लिये 71 सीटों पर मतदान (first phase voting) सुबह सात बजे शुरू हो गया. जिसमें दो करोड़ से अधिक मतदाता 1,066 उम्मीदवारों की किस्मत पर फैसला करेंगे. कोविड-19 के बीच हो रहे चुनाव के मद्देनजर निर्वाचन आयोग ने सुरक्षित मतदान के लिये दिशानिर्देश जारी किये हैं. इन दिशानिर्देशों के तहत एक मतदान केंद्र (Voting Centre) में मतदाताओं की संख्या 1600 से घटाकर 1000 कर दी गयी है. साथ ही 80 वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के लोगों के लिये पोस्टल बैलेट की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई गयी है . इसके अलावा इलेक्ट्रानिक वोटिंग मशीन को सेनिटाइज करना, मतदान कर्मियों के लिये मास्क और सुरक्षा सामग्री और थर्मल स्कैनर, हैंड सेनिटाइजर, साबुन और पानी उपलब्ध कराना शामिल है .

Delhi has reported 4,853 new coronavirus cases and 44 deaths related to the virus in the past 24 hours, data showed Tuesday night. Sunday's protest in Darjeeling was apparently in reaction to supporters of the Gorkha Jamukti Morcha Bimal Gurung (GJM-BG) faction put up their party flags in the hill town yesterday for the first time since he went underground in 2017. Some of the flags went up at Chowk Bazaar, a busy market place in the centre of the town.

Three days after the missing Darjeeling leader Bimal Gurung, who led a violent agitation for a separate state Gorkhaland, resurfaced in Kolkata, his rivals currently in control of the hill station held protest demonstrations on Sunday and warned that if his return meant a return to violence, people would not let him enter the hills. Sunday's protest in Darjeeling was apparently in reaction to supporters of the Gorkha Jamukti Morcha Bimal Gurung (GJM-BG) faction put up their party flags in the hill town yesterday for the first time since he went underground in 2017. बिहार के जमुई जिले की पूरी अर्थव्यवस्था बीड़ी के कारोबार पर टिकी है लेकिन पहले नोटबंदी फिर जीएसटी और अब लॉकडाउन के चलते पूरे उद्योग की कमर टूट गई है. उद्योग से जुड़े 10 लाख लोग भुखमरी के कगार पर पहुंच गए हैं. कई लोग तो दिन के महज पांच रुपये की ही कमा पाते हैं. वह बताते हैं कि 1000 बीड़ी बनाने में दो दिन लगते हैं और इसके एवज में उन्हें 85 रुपये मिलते हैं.

महिलाओं को मुंबई लोकल ट्रेन में सफर के लिए मिली इजाजत
रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने मंगलवार को घोषणा की थी कि मुंबई और उपनगर की लोकल ट्रेनों में महिलाएं बुधवार से यात्रा कर सकेंगी. जिसके बाद कल से महिलाओं ने यात्रा करना शुरू कर दिया है. फिलहाल इन लोकल ट्रेनों में अग्रिम मोर्चे पर काम कर रहे कर्मी और महाराष्ट्र सरकार द्वारा श्रेणीबद्ध की गईं जरूरी सेवा से जुड़े लोग यात्रा कर पा रहे हैं. महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने 16 अक्टूबर को रेलवे से आग्रह किया था कि गैर व्यस्त समय (सुबह 11 बजे से दोपहर तीन बजे और शाम सात बजे से दिन की सेवा खत्म होने तक) में महिला यात्रियों को स्थानीय ट्रेन सेवा का इस्तेमाल करने की इजाजत दी जाए.
